The holder and beneficiary of the residence permit for investment ("ARI") or "Golden Visa", has the right to:
- Living in Portugal;
- pursue a professional activity in Portugal;
- freely circulate, subject to visa waiver, by the Schengen countries.
- You can also obtain a Permanent Residence Authorization after a period of 5 (five) years, valid ad eturnum (does not expire and is subject to normal renewals similar to a national citizen card and without any imposition minimum stay tax);
In addition,
- be able to acquire Portuguese citizenship after a period of 5 (five) years, in accordance with the applicable legislation and in force;
- use the right to Family Reunification:
Holders of a Residence Permit for Investment may apply for Family Reunification, applicable to the spouse and ascendants, and to minor children, dependent on the Applicant, including children over 18 years of age who are in charge of the couple or one of the spouses, who are studying in Portugal or abroad.
When the Family Reunion application is granted, the Residence Authorization is granted to family members, with the same duration as the holder's residence permit.
